Shincliffe Colliery Methodist baptisms 1884-1934

42 baptisms at the Shincliffe Colliery Methodist church, which started life as Shincliffe Methodist New Connexion church. In late 1908, it changed its name to Shincliffe United Methodist, and in Jan 1912 became Shincliffe United Methodist in connection with Shincliffe Bank Top. Because of the name changes, we have added a note to each baptism denoting the current name of the church.

  • 19 Jan 1885 Hilda Laws, of Shincliffe Colliery, child of William Laws & Hannah, age 1 month
[Note: This church was called Shincliffe New Connexion at this time. ]
  • 5 Feb 1916 John George Appleton, of 4 Pond Street, Shincliffe, born 30 Jan 1916, child of William Appleton & Elizabeth Hannah Appleton
[Note: This church was called Shincliffe United Methodist in connection with Shincliffe Bank Top at this time. ]
