We did extensive cross-checking of the BT entries against the parish register and found no appreciable differences except for this interesting entry, in which the BT gave more information than the parish register originally had:

  [Note: There is no mention of bastardy or the mother's maiden surname in the parish register, only in the Bishop's Transcript. Also the BT has the father's surname as Tower.]
